What is creditor harassment?

Creditors are banned by law from taking certain actions that may harm you and your personal life.  These acts are known as creditor harassment, and they include the following:

Calling overly frequently and at odd hours
Threatening to harm you
Calling your employers when asked not to
Giving you false information
Threatening to embarrass you
